Arts @ The Feed & Grain will feature innovative and nationally recognized art experience at the Loveland Feed & Grain this February 13-15 from 6-9pm. Love + Light is an annual conceptual and contemporary art and light event that draws on the spirit of Loveland’s rich cultural history in the arts and Valentine’s Day activities.
For Love + Light, artists will transform the spaces in the Feed & Grain with light and other materials creating one of a kind artistic expression. Photographers will use light to make “light graffiti”, fire dancers will perform outdoors, hot drinks and a warming shed will help keep guests warm as they experience the site specific installations in the old building. Large artistic projections will light up the exterior of the Feed & Grain as 10 hearts made of LED lights created by local Artist Kerri Ertman.
Internationally recognized artist, Chris Nelson of Massachusetts, will be creating a site specific installation in the west room of the Feed & Grain using light to create space that interacts with the viewer on both a physical and emotional level. Nelson was raised in Colorado where he received his BFA in sculpture at Colorado State University. He is now based in Holyoke, MA, and shows in various parts of the country, and in Japan. You can view his website at http://chrisnelsonartist.com/
The Loveland Feed & Grain will play host to this uniquely blended art experience through a program called Arts @ The Feed & Grain. Arts @ The Feed & Grain is committed to bringing programs that support innovative art experiences of all disciplines working in the avant-garde.
Other Artists in Love + Light include, Garrett Shell, a student from Rocky Mountain School of Art as well as Claudia Mastrobuono, a adjunct professor from the same school. There will be a host of other regional and local artists from emerging to professional talent to complete this uniquely blended art experience
Abbie R Powers, David Young, Carrie Johansing, will be featured for their installation work at the Loveland Feed & Grain the national publication, Sunset Magazine. Sunset Magazine is featuring the Feed & Grain after one of their New York writers the building last September. “We are very excited to be recognized by this travel magazine,” said Artistic Director Megan Tracy, “ After receiving two National grants from Artplace America and the NEA, this national publication really has put the Feed & Grain on the map as a top artistic and cultural destination in Colorado.
