![]() Nowhere Limited Gallery in Nederland, CO - Photo courtesy of the gallery I was in NYC last year and while wandering through the East Village stumbled upon the NY Giant Robot store; not particularly unusual to find myself by chance in a gallery slash book and giftshop highlighting new urban art. But Nederland CO? I was certainly surprised and impressed with new gallery Nowhere Limited which I came across while taking in my favorite cryonic celebrity at "Frozen Dead Guy Days." The gallery represents a hodgepodge of well known artists on the Juxtapoz scene, including Blaire Fontana, Gary Baseman and Frank Kozik whose excellent fiberglass Giant Mao plays like something from a pop Chinese art exhibit. And while it seemed initially a bit of a stretch to make a go of it in Ned, with the Internet and mail order, there's ample opportunity to sell works by artists with pre-existing buzz. The trick will be building up new artists from the land of the preserved dead. ![]() Frank Kozik "Giant Mao" 1 West First St. Nederland, CO 80466 Winter Hours: Fri 4-8pm, Sat 12-8pm, Sun 12-7pm http://www.nowherelimited.com |
