Douglas County Art Encounters Program
2008 Call for Entries
Deadline for submissions: Feb. 15, 2008
Not spending enough time down in the DC? (that's Douglas County for you folks north of C470)... well, here's a chance to participate in the Art Encounters program sponsored by the Douglas County Government and get $500 for allowing them to display your outdoor-compatible sculpture for a year. From the website...
Art Encounters is a year-long outdoor sculpture exhibit that showcases a number of sculptures, in various media and styles, displayed in highly visible areas in Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree and Parker. The project is designed to promote public interest in art, develop community pride and draw visitors to the retail or civic areas where they are displayed.
Eligibility
All individuals or groups of professional and amateur artists over the age of 18 are eligible. Artists should submit only existing, completed work. Jurisdictions will pay selected artists a $500 stipend for each piece selected for the right to display their artwork for one year.
Sculptures must be able to sustain any outdoor weather conditions.
The deadline for submission of entries is Feb. 15, 2008.
Up to three entries may be submitted by an individual or group. No entry fees apply. Entries can be submitted online at:
