Josh Keyes - The Call I

The seventh annual Art Basel Miami Beach wrapped up last weekend and a variety of Denver gallery folk made the trek south. David Smith of Limited Addiction Gallery formally announced that Limited Addiction will now be known as the David B. Smith Gallery; the blog Arrested Motion has an interview with Smith detailing the change as well as some background on how Limited Addiction got started: Preview/Interview: David B. Smith Gallery @ Art Basel Miami 2008.

Dave was at one of the several side shows taking place alongside Art Basel (Aqua Wynwood) highlighting work by one of the most interesting artists in his stable, Josh Keyes, as well as Colorado's Jason Theilke and Minneapolis based sculptor Gregory Euclide.

Tom Horne of Andenken Gallery was also in Miami and snapped a few pics including a variety of Banksy-esque graffitti around town; check out the Andenken Gallery blog at http://beautyandthestreet.org for more info.

The Miami Herald serves up full coverage of the goings on including (among many interesting articles, videos and images):

Art Basel sales show slowdown in tough economic year
$300,000 sculpture destroyed en route to Art Miami show
