LA Blogger Alissa Walker of "UnBeige" details MCA's SoCal press junket with architect David Adjaye to spread the word of the upcoming grand opening of the new Adjaye designed building (0ct 07). The soiree was at the tony West Hollywood eatery "Lucques" and featured Adjaye and MCA executive director Cydney Payton among the LA art and design press corps. From Alissa's blog post:
We were gathered by the lovely people at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver to discuss their new building designed by Adjaye (not to be confused, mind you, with the pointy Libeskind-ized Denver Art Museum). We met curator Cydney Payton who is way excited about the museum's first show in the new space, "Star Power: Museum as Body Electric," which could also accurately describe Adjaye's glowing box of gray etched glass.
Hmm..., hadn't noticed any etching on the glass, but the glowing should indeed look sublime once the lights are on. - KLH
