The world comes to Denver with artwork from 30 master artists selected by the International Folk Art Market. Enjoy holiday shopping at Tansey Contemporary and the International Folk Art Market Holiday Boutique. This unique sale will offer high-quality artisan made goods such as jewelry, scarves, accessories and home furnishings. Among the offerings will be wool and silk scarves from Kyrgyzstan, Kantha embroidered pieces from India, beaded jewelry from Kenya and Ecuador, and peace baskets from Rwanda. Special products include painted-egg ornaments from the Ukraine, silver and gold jewelry from Spain and Kazakhstan, children’s gifts, and home goods.

About the Guest Artists

Andrea Usai, Sardinia, Jeweler, KOKKU

Andrea combines traditional skill with contemporary design and techniques exclusive to Sardinian artisans to produce beautiful, vibrant and desirable jewelry of the highest standards. In 2010, Andrea launched KOKKU a jewelry brand centered on preserving Sardinian culture and the art of filigree. This is an opportunity to meet Andrea, buy exquisite jewelry, and learn more about how his artwork impacts lives in his home community.

Rupa Trivedi, India, Textile Artist, Adiv Pure Natural Products

Mumbai-based Adiv Pure Nature Products was founded by Rupa Trivedi in 2008. The company’s mission is to promote the use of natural dyes—derived from plants and medicinal herbs—to create a sustainable and green fashion supply chain. The artists of Adiv Pure Nature Products are known for the library of 90 different natural dye colors. Adiv’s special initiative known at the Temple Project, collects marigold, coconut husks, hibiscus, and rose offerings from local Mumbai Hindu temples, all of which are used in various dye processes. Advi’s dyers are self-taught and often come from challenging circumstances in Mumbai. Their resourcefulness is integral to the company’s work.
