Join Tansey Contemporary for “Surfing the Lotus Threads” a solo exhibition of hand-built ceramic vessels from Melanie Ferguson. Ferguson’s first solo exhibition with the gallery, “Surfing the Lotus Threads” explores, using clay as a sculptural medium, the concept of five elemental themes: resonance and flow, light and shadow, story and perception, balance and strength, heart and spirit.

Ferguson describes, “Resonance can be felt in the echo flowing from within the center of form. Surface reflects the story of rhythm, repeating patterns, and the confusion of seemingly random lines that lead toward a concept of hiding within the holes of the lotus thread while witnessing a strength of spirit and heart that weaves a perception of that which we know. The result is an edge of uncertainty and vulnerability, balanced by the power to initiate a dialogue with our personal journey discovered within — a journey that invites pause and ultimately engages our next move.”
