An evolution, perhaps a revolution, in the art and craft of photography has happened to the art world. A camera in smartphones means a camera in almost everyone’s hand out in the big beautiful world. Juror Mark Sink shows the best of Smartphone photography in celebration of Denver's biennial month of photography.
Juror Mark Sink: “The camera on your phone is an amazing tool. It has changed the world's social consciousness through social media, fine art, and photojournalism. Everyone from the very young to very old now shares the magic of photography in all its forms with a simple phone. Some of the greatest photographers and artists in the world use this tool for their work. The theme for this exhibition is open. I look forward to seeing what the artist in you has to offer. I look for work that speaks from your heart, happy or sad, artistic or photojournalistic.”
Candace Shepard: Remember
"Remember" is an exhibit of 189 select images from a year long iPhone project that began on May 3, 2016 - the same fabric manipulated and photographed, outside, every day.
