Jessica Loving - Cinnabar, 40" x 50", mixed media on canvas

“De/Constructing Landscape” distances itself from traditional guidelines of landscape as four artists offer alternative ways of looking at nature. With his passion for travel and landscape as muse, Hugh Daly’s paintings use bold pigment and gestural line with a ‘joie de vivre” attitude. David Griffin reflects his reverence for Colorado in a constructed landscape of grids within a kaleidoscope of nostalgia and beauty. And introducing artist Jessica Loving in her first exhibit at the Sandra Phillips Gallery, she uses a myriad of materials for texture and depth with dried flowers and seeds, creating exciting washes of color. The Kleinman sisters combine aluminum and paint to invoke the mathematics and rhythmic patterns of nature.
