Museo de las Americas announces our fall exhibition, Las (H)adas, featuring site-specific installations by five Colorado Latina artists: Judy Miranda, Ana María Hernando, Jessica Luna, Arlette Lucero, and Meggan De Anza.

Las (H)adas explores cultural connections linked to the idea of identity and bicultural influences. Exploring this process unveils for us how far our postcolonial, consumerized mind has distanced itself from our humanity: sacred, magical, and divine.

In Spanish, las hadas means the fairies, but ‘adas’ is a suffix which signifies gender in an action verb. The title of the exhibit has two meanings. The artists featured are local fairy godmothers of Latino art and culture, but they are also ____-adas.
