La Malagua (The Jellyfish)

(from the press release) El Colectivo Malagua features the talent of 5 artists from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico: Jessica Felix, Sergio Martinez, Fernando Sanchez, Miguel Perez and Ireri Topete. The Colectivo has taken the Mexican Loteria iconography and has changed the rules by adding a new card: “La Malagua” (The Jellyfish). This change prompts a visual reinterpretation of La Loteria that parodies its predecessor, along with the comical and the colorful characters of Mexican society. Two Colorado artists, Carlos Fresquez and Belen Escalante, are also featured and will provide their own take on La Loteria. Come and play.
