Spring Formal

A Light and Sculpture Installation by Local Artist Hayley Dixon

The STOREROOM (1700 Vine St. Denver)

April & May, 2019

  • Opening night: Thursday, April 4 from 6-9pm
The STOREROOM and Vine St. Pub welcome you to view Spring Formal, by local artist Hayley Dixon. As we move from the darkness of Winter, Spring Formal, invites you to take part in the illumination of life that comes from the longer, warmer days. Each section celebrates the organic nature and joy of the reawakening of life. The three sections blend the organic side of nature and the playfulness of the human imagination. Each section takes shapes, textures, feelings, and artifacts from nature and is redesigned to invoke a sense of familiar alongside the otherworldliness.

The vision of The STOREROOM is to work with artists and Denver property owners to activate empty storefronts in Denver. Artists with a passion for engaging with the public and across diverse audiences, for creating work that is visually stunning and innovative, and for adding insight and whimsy to the neighborhood are offered a space to install temporary art installations. “Giving emerging artists a space to get creative in a temporary home, The STOREROOM is a great way to showcase these unique artworks,” said Vine St. Pub manager Caroline Duffy, adding, “we hope other property owners follow suit if they have underused spaces that could be activated with art!”
