Tom Mazzullo - Fulgora laternaria, 2018TOM MAZZULLO "Infestation"
Infestation is comprised of 18 silverpoint drawings of mounted insects from my own collection and from specimens at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and the CU Boulder Zoological Collection. I’ve been devoted to making a few of these drawings each week for over a year, of which I’ve picked a handful of the best or most interesting examples for this show. Silverpoint is a very old way of making drawings that uses soft metal tools to mark on specially-coated papers.

SUSAN RUBIN "Political Landscape"
As a botanical artist, I focus on the exquisite detail and color of the plant realm. In Political Landscape, I turn my attention to the oddly compelling lexicon of the political chaos that surrounds us. Using modern colored pencil in a time-honored natural science genre, I invite plants to illustrate the word salad that describes our daily dose of altered reality and, at the same time, to remind us that there is beauty and order beneath it all.

In the North Gallery: CAROL TILL "Arboreal"
Arboreal is a collection of hand printed etchings that I have made of trees and tree-related subjects. As a careful observer, exploring the intricacies of tree branching, woven bird nests and feathers challenges and rewards me. The fine, fluid line I can achieve with the etching process suits both me and my subjects.
