Keith Howard: "FUSE"
This body of abstract work will be accessible to my viewers by virtue my choices with color, and the structure of the compositions- and I will offer this definition of a word that has lately characterized my personal journey.
Fuse (noun): a length of material along which a small flame moves to explode a bomb, meanwhile allowing time for those who light it to move to a safe distance.
Annalee Schorr "State of the Union: Democracy/Emergency"
40,000 Crossed Out Lives: An X for Each U.S. Gunshot Death in One Year
The state of our union is precarious. A madman is in the White House, and crises in climate change, violence, homelessness, and immigration remain unaddressed or made worse. From “largest inauguration crowd ever” to “fake news” and “alternative facts,” “witch hunt” and “no quid pro,” the twitter-master reigns. See more of Annalee's work at www.annaleeschorr.com
Judi Lightfield "Some days the landscape of love looks like this"
Some days the landscape of love looks like this-Safe and Sound, 2019 The work in my show explores the ways nature reflects human relationships. Trees turn into icons of the living breathing soul, mountains are obstacles or offer protection, this guy is the universal sight. Landscapes become illusions.
