Colorado Mosaic Artists: Origins

First Congregational Church (1128 Pine St. in Boulder)

October 4 - November 30, 2019

  • Opening Reception: Friday October 4th from 6-9pm
  • Over 70 mosaics from 20 CMA artists and an art piece from our guest Dianne Sonnenberg
  • Colorado Mosaic Artists (CMA), a non-profit organisation that unites mosaic artists and enthusiasts all over Colorado

The theme for this show originated at a 2 day, intensive workshop given by guest artist, Dianne Sonnenberg, called “Concept to Completion,” said Vice President of CMA, Carrie Doman. “The focus of the weekend was learning how to process a vague concept and create a meaningful work of mosaic art. As the workshop came to a close Dianne challenged the artists to take the theme “Origins,” apply the concepts learned and create a personal work of art with each artist’s unique point of view. Many of the pieces in the show are the result of that challenge. We are so excited to include a piece by Dianne that was created for this exhibition. The show will include more than 70 mosaics, including wall art, 3-dimensional pieces, art created from found objects, and tiles, glass, beads, fabric, shells and rare stone.
