Call for Street Artist Mentors for Teen workshop series with Boulder High Art Students

This three part workshop series will use a framework of artist mentorships to facilitate student work in public spaces in Boulder, Colorado. Artists will lead a three session workshop intended to help students identify social issues impacting their community, and then create public work based on these ideas in a group / team environment.

Goals:
  • Communicating/awareness of social issues, teamwork, respect, giving a voice to teens, and completing a group project.
  • Mentorship in various techniques for creating public art, street art, murals, guerilla art etc.
  • Building student confidence in voice and technique
We are currently collecting letters of interest for two Artist Mentors: March 2019 workshop- method and medium is open, please submit your interest and method you'd like to teach. Artist stipend $1000 for three, 3 hour classes, plus a $500 materials budget. April/May 2019 workshop- Muralist workshop of three, 3 hour classes and a mural installation on Boulder Creek Path in Boulder, designed and painted with the students. Artist stipend of $2250 with a $750 materials budget.

Interested artists should submit a letter of interest with some sample work to And Art Space. A selection of artists will be presented to the students of the National Arts Honor Society at Boulder High, who will vote to finalize who will lead the three workshops. Having the students ultimately decide, will promote commitment and buy in.
