Decade: Ironton Group ShowIronton Studios and GalleryJune 22 - July 25, 2009Gallery Reception: Friday July 3 at 6:00 pm![]() (from the press release) Ironton celebrates 10 years in the Denver community this month with the group show 'decade'. All of Ironton's 13 artists are represented in 'decade' including Robin Schaefer, Sharon Feder and (Donald Lipsky's metal fabricator) Mike Mancarella. The gallery hosts about 10 shows a year, over half of which are culled from some of Denver's most challenging artists. Alumni include Susan Meyer, Bill Admundson, Bill Stockman and Viviane Le Courtois among many others. Privately owned, Ironton does not charge the artists to exhibit and is not a sales oriented space. Because of this, it lends itself to installation, conceptual and experimental work. In 2008 Ironton won the Mayor's Design Award in the category "oh, Pioneers"! Situated between Brighton Blvd, junk yards and the river, the 4 friends who developed Ironton (from a former garage and parking lot) created a community where metal fabricators, woodworkers and painters could all work side by side. The gallery invites community participation with new exhibits every 6 weeks. ***Situated one mile north of Coors Field, the July 3rd fireworks are visible from 36th and Chesnut!****
