Koplia-la Arts Presents "Jewels of Nepal," an exhibition of traditional Buddhist paintings

The sacred art form of Paubha is a visual interpretation of Buddhist and Hindu philosophies. Come join artist and art historian Chelsea Wiebers at Habitat Gallery and discover this rare and beautiful art form. Paintings on display are by master artist Lok Chitrakar, Chelsea Wiebers and the students of Simrik Atelier in Patan, Nepal.

Paubha painting differs from other art forms we find in the modern world. Paubha is not art for the sake of beauty, or art for arts sake. Paubha is an art for life. The paintings are skillfully created for a particular purpose: to inspire the state of liberation and the path to get there. Paubha paintings are not only beautiful images on the surface but evoke deep philosophical insight into the art of life.
