CPAC 2009 Member ShowEdge GalleryJune 19 - July 12, 2009 Jessica Ellis - Pigeon Skeleton, from the Wunderkamera series, 2008 (from the press release) The Colorado Photographic Arts Center’s annual Juried Members Show, featuring a variety of photographic media, opens June 19th through July 12 at the Edge Gallery, 3658 Navajo St. in Denver. 40 pieces from 27 different artists were chosen for the show by juror Loretta Young-Gautier, Associate Director of The Camera Obscura Gallery. Four artists were awarded top honors for their work. Richard Cummings was presented Best of Show for his outstanding photo, “Veiled Nude”. Gifford Ewing garnered Second Place for his image of the “Setting Moon at the Great Sand Dunes”. John Bonath received Third Place for “Thorny Pod,” and Tom Haygood received Honorable Mention for his unique reflected abstraction of downtown Denver. Two guest photographers, Jessica Ellis and Felecia Ashby, are being featured in a companion exhibit in the Edge Associate gallery, adjoining the main space. Also featured at the reception will be a set of newly printed photographs by the late-20th century Pictorialist photographer R. Ewing Stiffler. These will be available for sale to benefit CPAC.
