For Prism & Paradox each visual artist works in a variety of mediums threaded by use of color, shape and compelling juxtaposition. Identity and culture often exist within paradox, existing as two opposing forces. This play between duality, identity and transparency creates the inspiration for exploring the collection in Prism & Paradox.
The featured artist's each have roots and influence in Denver's cultural landscape. Suchitra Mattai, currently in residence in France is a Redline alumni and holds a permanent studio in Denver. Hyland Mather is a traveling artist and with a permanent space in Amsterdam after relocating from Denver years ago. Leon Loucheur spent a considerable time in Denver where he established himself within a tight graffiti community and currently lives and works in San Francisco. Hollis + Lana, artist duo and founders of Druther, have long been established in Denver as a creative force. AJ Davis, visual artist and co-founder of Project Street Gold, is a Colorado native who currently lives and works in Broomfield and is deeply connected to the local and international graffiti culture.
