Haze Diedrich and Scott Holdeman: Interior ConstructSpace GalleryDecember 5, 2008 – January 17, 2009Opening Reception: Friday December 5th, 6:00 – 9:00pm Haze Diedrich - Isolation in a Time of Heros - oil on canvas, 58"x58" (from the press release:) Interior Construct explores inner and outer manifestations of the human experience from the location, identity and purpose of the human soul to the role everyday objects, passing conversations, and common occurrences take in shaping our perception of reality. Diedrich’s literal and figurative interpretations investigate universals of time, place and being using memories of experience to work stories in reverse, highlighting essential elements from compartmentalized origins. Diedrich’s canvases are infused color fields in which vessels and organic forms surge into being and exist in symbiotic trajectories. Holdeman similarly forms inclusive dimensions within his panels, using abstracted views of interior elements, doors, entries, and windows as linear constructs, a dimensional atmosphere contained beneath the surface. Artists Haze Diedrich and Scott Holdeman present a vibrant tapestry of canvases and panels encouraging the viewer’s introspection.
