Danyl Cook - "Trees: Blue, Brown, Red, Cream"Zip37March 6 - 22, 2009Opening Reception Friday March 6 from 6:00 - 10:00 pm![]() (from the press release) NEW PAINTINGS BY DANYL COOK TO BENEFIT DENVER PARKS DEPARTMENT Denver, Colorado, February, 2009 – When Denver artist Danyl Cook is not sketching the trees in city parks, he’s tending to their well-being. “If the trees are going to model for me, the least I can do in return is help them thrive,” says Cook who volunteers for the Denver Parks and People Partnership. On a regular basis, Cook works several parks in his Northwest Denver neighborhood: cleaning trash and debris and submitting reports to the city on the health of the grass, plants, playground equipment and athletic fields. Spending time with the trees is the inspiration for Cook’s latest paintings and his show “Trees: Blue, Brown, Red, Cream,” will open at Zip37 Gallery in northwest Denver with an artist’s reception Friday, March 6 from 6 pm to 10 pm. The show runs for three weeks and a portion of proceeds will be donated to Denver Parks. Zip37 Gallery is located at 3644 Navajo Street. The show will run through March 22. Hours of operation are Friday evenings, 6-10 pm and Saturday and Sunday afternoons from noon to 5 pm.
