(from the press release)

Cassandra Tondro and Christina Yocca transform ordinary materials into their artwork. Tondro uses Home Depot's "Oops!" latex paint in her flowing abstract paintings, and Yocca incorporates organic materials into her sculptures, including branches, clay, and fibers. With the "Oops!" paintings, Tondro reclaims rejected house paints. Yocca transforms earth materials into organic vessels and wall pieces.

New gallery location opening May 9th

(from the press release announcing the move)

Judy Hagler, owner of Translations Gallery and president of Denver's ArtDistrict on Santa Fe has decided to move her gallery space, which is currently located at 8th Avenue and Santa Fe Drive. The move is just two blocks away to 855 Inca Street and will occur at the beginning of May, 2008. The new space is smaller yet more industrial with metal plating on the ceiling and concrete floors creating that urban New York gallery atmosphere.

Although the gallery's current location on Santa Fe Drive is attractive, with Sandy Carson Gallery across the street and Space Gallery two doors down, people often walk by thinking Translations Gallery is an office space. The gallery will guide customers to their new space at 855 Inca with a new street guide program that will be developed by Denver's ArtDistrict on Santa Fe. "There are many wonderful galleries and shops just off of Santa Fe Drive," Hagler states. "Our move off of the main strip is pushing the ArtDistrict to create more exposure for those businesses."
