ROBERT BUELTEMAN - adapted his innovative photographic technique in 1999 from the mid-twentieth century Kirlian method; a method that uses an electrically charged metal plate to imprint an image onto photographic film. Without camera, lens, or digital technology, Buelteman has updated the Kirlian method to create images of the natural world that entrance and invite the eye to reassess what surrounds us. Buelteman’s work has been met with great acclaim in both national and international galleries, including: Gallery Jones, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; Gerald Peters Gallery, Santa Fe, NM; Art Mayence, Maintz, Germany; and the San Francisco Presidio, San Francisco, CA. He also serves as the artist-in-residence at the Santa Fe Institute. "I began to feel a need to explore the tools of my medium beyond…their traditional uses…I turned to simplicity" -Robert Buelteman ANDY SWEET- is interested in the way art can inform and facilitate self-knowledge, and shed new light on human relationships, histories, and cultures. Having taught and practiced clinical psychology, Sweet uses lines, textures, and forms in his sculpture to express his insights and perceptions of human psyche and human nature, creating an art that is both aesthetically interesting and intellectually captivating. Sweet has shown his work in numerous regional galleries and venues including: Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, Boulder International Stone Sculpture Symposium, SPARK Gallery, Denver, CO, Art Student’s League and Museum of Contemporary Art/Denver. "I am impressed with the ability of a three dimensional work to capture us, hold our attention…and take us elsewhere" -Andy Sweet
