Once Removed: Photography by Evan Anderman presents a selection of works by the Denver-based artist that examine the subtle beauty of the rural Eastern plains of Colorado, a landscape that has been modified by both natural and man-made processes. His works seek to challenge our understanding of the relationship between human development and the natural world by documenting the way we use the land. The artist’s unique perspective mediates a view of agriculture and industry that is not ordinarily accessible without special skills, training, and equipment. While the images have an abstracted aesthetic quality, they reveal the manifestation of global tensions on a local scale.

Evan Anderman (b. 1964, Denver, Colorado) is a fine art photographer with a background in geology. He holds an MA and PhD in Geological Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in Golden and a BS in Geological Engineering from Princeton University, New Jersey.
