Tacha Vosburgh: Dreaming and ReflectingPlinth GalleryJuly 4 - 31, 2008Opening reception Friday July 4th, 6:00 - 9:00 pm Tacha Vosburgh - "Rani" 2008 (from the press release) Plinth Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of new works by artist Tacha Vosburgh in an exhibition titled, Dreaming and Reflecting. This exhibition runs Friday July 4, 2008 through July 31, 2008. A reception for the artist will be held during RiNo’s First Fridays in the River North Arts District on Friday, July 4th, from 6 - 9 p.m. Vosburgh’s figures are individually made from earthenware clay. Some forms are thrown on the potter’s wheel and altered while others are constructed from slabs and coils of clay. A gifted ceramic sculptor, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Maine College of Art, Tacha Vosburgh has had studios in Brazil and Key West, Florida. Her works have been shown and collected in over 150 galleries throughout the United States and Europe. She spends summers in New England where her works are shown at the Hay Gallery in Portland, Maine. But for six months out of the year she is in Arizona, finding the imagery and aesthetics of the Superstitions to be conducive to her creativity. Her art evokes the magic of both the natural and the supernatural world. Originally conceived as a primary exhibition venue for notable ceramic artist Jonathan Kaplan, Plinth Gallery hosts exhibitions of ceramic artists whose work references a sculptural vessel aesthetic. Plinth Gallery has received many awards including a 2007 Denver Mayor’s Design Award. Plinth Gallery is located at 3520 Brighton Boulevard in Denver.
