"Black-eyed Peas & Grace"Black Historical Fine Art by artist Janie McGeeGilmore Art CenterFebruary 1st - March 12th, 2008Opening reception Friday February 1st, 6:00 to 10:00 PM Janie McGee at the Gilmore Art Center (from the press release) This is McGee's debut show in Denver, since returning to Colorado, relocating from Maryland. The show is a collective body of folk art style pieces reflecting black history from 1900's - to the civil rights. A fundraising event for Tumaini (www.tumainiministries.org) an orphanage in Kenya, Africa, is also scheduled for the evening of March 11th.
