Impulse: Ben Strawn, Jared Davis & Robert DelaneyWalker Fine ArtApril 11 - May 24, 2008Opening Reception Friday, April 11, 2008 from 6:00 to 9:00 pmAlso on display: works by Jason Lucas, Norman Epp, Quim Bove and Angela Beloian ![]() Artist Angela Beloian While not in the front room, I found the works by Jason Lucas and Angela Beloian to be among the more interesting pieces at Walker Fine Art's current "Impulse" exhibit. Beloian creates stretched fabric canvases from a chaos of vintage patterns she has collected and then adds paper and ink to the mix. The end result is a nervous harmony of disparate media, colors and shapes that hint at a luscious natural world among distinctly un-natural visual disruptions. - KLH Click here for pictures from the opening... "I want my paintings to surprise me-to reveal to me what art is and can be" -Ben Strawn JARED DAVIS- studied glass sculpting under world-renowned Swedish Glass masters, Jan Erik Ritzman and Sven-Ake Carlsson, and studied Venetian-Style Glass blowing-thus earning a multifaceted technical background that endows his work with an innovative edge. He has since developed his technique to construct monumentally sized, but graceful aerial sculptures. Many of Delaney's works now hang in prominent Denver locations, including: The ballroom lobby in the Hyatt Denver Convention Center Hotel and the roof of Denver's Zeitgeist Gallery. Delaney's instillations have won him recognition in numerous publications, among which include: Metropolitan Home, Denver Post, Rocky Mountain News and Art & Auction.
