Dialog: DenverRobischon GalleryAugust 16 - September 20, 2008Opening Reception for the artists: August 21, 6-8 pmAnother DNC-themed show, Robischon is highlighting art with a political theme as part of their "Dialog: Denver." The front gallery features national names including Ann Hamilton and Krzysztof Wodiczko, while the back room has a distinctly Colorado focus provided by a variety of local artists including Lauri Lynx Murphy, Terry Maker, Chuck Forsman, Jerry Kunkel and Jill Hadley Hooper. The local crew provides a personal take on lawn ornament political placards with original pieces on a wide range of political themes, with a common thread being pain tinged with humor. The original works are being produced as actual lawn placards that will be traveling to Minneapolis for an exhibition titled "UnConvention" to be displayed during the Republican National Convention taking place there in early September. - KLH Click here for some pictures from the exhibit Robischon Gallery 1740 Wazee Street Denver, CO 80202 303.298.7788 Tue-Sat: 11:00-6:00 http://www.robischongallery.com
