Richard Peterson: A Talk About Old-School-Punk-Art/PhotographyPhoto Martini ClubSaturday January 23rd at 6:30pm![]() Photographer Richard Peterson - photo by Jamie Hurt (from the press release) "Punk icon" and photographer Richard Peterson talks-loosely and tells wild stories about his vintage collection of prints currently on display at this event; the images include bands like Talking Heads, Sex Pistols, Blondie, Devo, Television, Dead Boys, Ramones, Suicide, Pere Ubu and many others. The images were created in the late 1970s when Peterson served as Aerial Photographer for the San Francisco based "Search & Destroy" 'Zine, a magazine originating from the Beat bookstore City Lights. Allen Ginsberg and Lawrence Ferlinghetti contributed money and equipment for the launch of "Search & Destroy." The talk includes insights into the significance and relationship of the Punk-Art movement to Contemporary Art. A live web-cast is planned (please contact the gallery for information), live music and drinks, too. Peterson plans to give-away one of his prints to a lucky person!
