ABOUT ALICIA BAILEY

I've worked over 25 years as a studio artist, in a variety of media. In 1994 I began producing pieces that relied on concepts, materials and structures found in book design and construction. Working in the book arts field allows me to work with the materials and production method that best suit a particular project's concepts and goals.

In 1996 I began publishing under the ravenpress imprint. ravenpress publishes a few new titles each year; many are miniature books (3 inches or less). Producing erotic books is another area of interest. I also create one of a kind books, sculpture, book-like objects and installations.

FMAT (FIRST MONDAY ART TALK) is FREE to the public and will provide a look into the life of an artist or art group each month through a unique reproduction of their influences. The evenings events will be followed by a Q & A with the audience, mediated by host ERIC MATELSKI

FIRST MONDAY ART TALK MANTRA: Making art is a common and intimately human activity, filled with all the perils (and rewards) that accompany any worthwhile effort. The difficulties art makers face are not remote and heroic, but universal and familiar. - David Bayles, Ted Orland
