Talking Architecture:
Clyfford Still Museum Unveiled
Denver Art Museum Sharp Auditorium
Monday, March 3, 2008: 5:00 PMWith very little in the way of background, the Clyfford Still Museum and Brad Cloepfil of Allied Works Architecture will be unveiling the much anticipated design for the new building which is scheduled to open in 2010. The only information I could find on the web is a brief note on the Still museum's website and an equally terse mention in the RMN (which does give information on how to RSVP for the event.) I'm guessing our local architecture critics are a bit miffed at being summarily dismissed for sneak previews, but I'm guessing unpaid subcontractors or leaky roofs will eventually eclipse the unveiling as the news du jour over the next few years.
I'm anticipating a big draw, as there were many hundreds of folks in attendance at the Colorado Convention Center when the 3 finalists each pitched their respective companies back in 2006 so if you're expecting to get a seat in the rather cozy Sharp Auditorium, plan on arriving early. - KLH
