Call for Entries: Fairplay's Wearable Art Fest

(aka Fairplay Bead & Fiber Show)

Deadline for entries is Tuesday August 1st, 2017

Festival runs August 12 & 13, 2017

This year the Town of Fairplay is happy to announce the expansion of the Bead and Fiber Show. We have changed the name of the event to Fairplay’s Wearable Art Fest and we are accepting artists that create handmade “wearable art” from any medium. We will be offering a beer, wine and food garden again. We will also be offering classes and demos for the public under a tent on Front Street. We are looking for vendors/artists that might like to host a demo or a class. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have, Julie Bullock, 719-836-2622, ext. 109, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Fairplay’s Wearable Art Fest will take place on Front Street in Fairplay, Colorado, August 12 & 13, 2017, from 10am – 5pm on Saturday and 10am – 4pm on Sunday. This is an outdoor event.

Vendor Spaces All vendors will be responsible for their displays, tents and canopies. Be prepared for any kind of weather. The street is paved so bring weights for your tents/canopies. Vendor spaces are on a first come-first serve basis. Special requests are welcome but not guaranteed. There is not a rain date. The rain never lasts long and customers and tourists usually come back. Rain can actually be good for your business if you are prepared. We ask that you do not tear down early either day. You may not be allowed back to the show if you tear down early. If you will be selling any merchandise, you must have a Colorado sales tax license and include a copy with your application. All finished work must be your own, no commercial items will be allowed. Limited security will be available, but please do not leave anything of value overnight. You may check in at 6pm on Friday or 7am on Saturday at the event site on Front Street.

We will be advertising at local art galleries and bead shops around Colorado, at other events and in newspapers and on radio in the Rocky Mountain Region. Word of mouth is always best, so please pass our information along to your friends and customers. The show will also be included in all of our Town of Fairplay event calendars/ads/posters/websites/Facebook, etc.

The Town does not allow RV camping on Town streets overnight. There are many camping areas nearby and lodging companies available in Town. A list of accommodation options is included.

Weekend activities will include demonstrations and classes and a juried competition in several categories to be determined when vendors are in place.

Saturday evening at 5:30pm there will be a complimentary wine and cheese happy hour along with a spaghetti dinner hosted by the Town of Fairplay and South Park Pottery. Please bring one of your handmade art pieces, gift wrapped, for a white elephant exchange if you would like to participate. This event is complimentary to the vendors for up to two people per booth. Additional tickets may be purchased for $5 each and are available until 8/1/17.

Please contact Julie Bullock, 719-836-2622, ext. 109, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to reserve your booth space.
