Black Cube, a nomadic art museum, invites Colorado-based artists to submit video work for a cash award, in an effort to support those impacted by the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Preventative measures established to slow the spread of COVID-19 continue to deeply affect artists due to mass cancellations of art gatherings (openings, performances, lectures, and more). Although necessary, this social distancing has gravely influenced working artists, who often lack the financial stability needed to persevere through times of crises.

With the help of an emergency grant from the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation and a matching donation from Leslie and J Kent Miller, we are using this funding to support artists in our community. Additionally, this open call will serve as a platform to share local video art with audiences online. As an organization that passionately believes in artists’ sustainability, community engagement, and art accessibility, we hope this opportunity will provide care and inspiration during these trying times.
