Call for Street Artist Mentors for Teen workshop series with Boulder High Art Students
Art on the Streets @ Boulder High
Dates: March - May 2019
- This project is made possible by Open Studios, we thank them for their support of public art and arts education
This three part workshop series will use a framework of artist mentorships to facilitate student work in public spaces in Boulder, Colorado. Artists will lead a three session workshop intended to help students identify social issues impacting their community, and then create public work based on these ideas in a group / team environment.
- Communicating/awareness of social issues, teamwork, respect, giving a voice to teens, and completing a group project.
- Mentorship in various techniques for creating public art, street art, murals, guerilla art etc.
- Building student confidence in voice and technique
Interested artists should submit a letter of interest with some sample work to And Art Space. A selection of artists will be presented to the students of the National Arts Honor Society at Boulder High, who will vote to finalize who will lead the three workshops. Having the students ultimately decide, will promote commitment and buy in.
