It has definitely been a 'Lucky 7' for Mirada Fine Art at the unique Trading Post location just minutes southwest of Denver. Mirada will celebrate its 7th Anniversary, as well as ring in the holidays on Friday night December 2nd with its annual Holiday Art Party. Many of Mirada's most popular and award-wining artists have contributed new paintings and sculptures for this festive occasion.

Mirada will be unveiling the artwork of Melanie Warsinske, a Colorado artist who captures the spirit of the Colorado region in her remarkable equine and abstract work. Enjoy wine, hors d'ouvres and live music as Mirada toasts their patrons, who have made Mirada Fine Art such a success.

2016 Gilpin Art Studio Tour

The 5th Annual Gilpin Art Studio Tour will happen Saturday and Sunday September 17-18, 2016, 11am-5pm. The Gilpin Art Studio Tour is organized by local artists to foster an appreciation of the arts in Gilpin County to coincide with the fall aspen viewing. Enjoy your weekend in the high country meeting the artists and craftspeople in their studios, as they exhibit their art, demonstrate their craft and offer work for sale.

This is the 5th and most diverse year to date. There are 16 artists participating with a wide array of styles, including painters, illustrators, photographers, ceramic artists, jewelers, fiber, metal and glass artists and even laser cut wood pieces.

The 5th Annual Gilpin Art Studio Tour is a free, family friendly event that has something of interest for everyone! Central City is hosting the Hot Rod Hill Climb the same weekend, but all artists and gallery stops in Central City will be open during that event. Come support the artists, view the aspens at their peak and see the beauty of the high country.

The Fine Art Invitational offers three days of world-class art, wine, food and music. Featuring over 175 juried artists from across the Country, exhibiting thousands of original works and master pieces in a wide variety of medium and subject matter, including oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings on canvas; batiks, bronzes, stone, clay, glass and mixed media sculptures; drawings, metal, wood work, copper, ceramics, and hand-crafted furniture and more. Show patrons will experience the ambiance of strolling through the sculpture garden and outdoor gallery, while enjoying a selection of fine wines, event eateries and live musical performances.

 

Santa Fe New Mexico Turner Carroll Gallery’s 25th Anniversary

t-cTwenty-five years ago, in June 1991, Michael Carroll and Tonya Turner Carroll opened the doors of Turner Carroll Gallery, at 725 Canyon Road—the same location it occupies today. The two had dreams, degrees in art/history, experience working with museums, auction houses and galleries, and a true passion for art to fuel their ambitions. provoke or reflect social change. They travelled to newly opened Eastern European countries in the early 1990s, bringing back art by artists whose works embodied socio- political change.

They have exhibited, spoken, and written about artists from all over the world, and have published the authoritative monograph on Romanian artist Traian Filip. Among Turner Carroll’s best-known artists are Chinese painter Hung Liu, who grew up under Mao during China’s Cultural Revolution, abstract philosopher Squeak Carnwath, and Traian Filip, head of Romania’s State Engraving Studios during the rule of nefarious dictator Nicolae Ceausescu. Israeli artist Drew Tal, who explores issues of liberation/ oppression in his images of Muslim women, will exhibit in 2016.

In honor of the gallery’s 25th anniversary, Turner Carroll has added several new artists to its roster, including social activist realist Scott Greene; New Mexico’s own Holly Roberts, John Barker, Orlando Leyba, Suzanne Sbarge, Karen Yank, Jamie Brunson; and pop commentarians Walter Robinson and Robert Townsend.

Turner Carroll has launched and furthered the careers of many contemporary artists whose works are now included in major museums throughout the world, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Louvre, Belvedere Museum (Vienna), Harvard’s Fogg Museum of Art, San Francisco Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Brooklyn Art Museum, Bulgaria’s Museum of Contemporary Art, Dallas Museum of Art, Walker Art Center, Vatican Collection, Mexico City’s Tamayo Museum, Brazil’s Chateaubriand Art Museum, the Medici Palace in Italy, and many more.

This 25th anniversary provides a time of reflection and anticipation for Turner Carroll. Throughout the 2016 exhibition season, Turner Carroll will feature a stellar lineup of its most eagerly collected international artists, including its newest ones. On June 3rd, Turner Carroll will open its anniversary season, featuring works by acclaimed New Mexico artist Holly Roberts, and Chinese sculptor Wanxin Zhang. In addition to its continued efforts with school children internationally, Turner Carroll will present works of art by its artists, for sale, to help support various organizations.
