PlatteForum is accepting applications for the 2020-2021 ArtLab Internship

Deadline for applications is March 7, 2020

artlabArtLab is a paid internship opportunity for students to take workshops and create artwork with professional artists over the course of their high school career. Artists come from all disciplines and backgrounds to share about their practice and skill sets. Students meet at Platte Forum on Saturdays during the school year and 2-3 days a week in the summer. Once selected, students remain in ArtLab until the summer after they graduate high school. Students with freshman, sophomore or junior standing are eligible to apply.

PlatteForum, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, supports contemporary artists and youth from historically marginalized communities in metro Denver through innovative, long-term arts programs that allow the youth to work side-by-side with artists in residence. This award-winning nonprofit organization provides a nurturing space where creativity and artistic excellence are highly valued and where artists and youth partner together to plan, produce, and exhibit a body of work to the public. The overall experience transforms the lives of the youth, the artists and the community.

Art call for Muralists from Pasternack’s Art Hub and Next Gallery

Pasternack’s Art Hub and Next Gallery has issued a call for artist proposals for one or more Wall Murals for various locations on the Pasternack’s Art building Located at 6851 W. Colfax in Lakewood. Sizes vary. Most Paintings should be done the over weekend of August 1st through the 3rd to Coincide with Colfax Art Fest. (Exceptions will be made to artists that make arrangements ahead of time)

The goal of the call is to enhance the buildings appearance and to provide public art that is of interest to residences and visitors.

Mural themes are open. The overall mural lengths and height will be determined by location, and by the artist's concept. The walls consist mostly of concrete and block construction.
